Outcome Analysis of POs, COs and PSOs
Method of Analysis
The analysis of Course Outcome (CO), Program Outcome (PO), and Program Specific Outcome (PSO) is conducted using various assessment methods.
Course Outcome (CO)
- Direct assessment method based on exam performance
- Target: 10% above minimum pass mark
- Four levels of attainment criteria
Attainment Levels:
Level 4: Excellent
Level 3: Very Good
Level 2: Good
Level 1: Satisfactory
Program Outcome (PO)
- Direct assessment method
- Computed by summation of course attainment levels
- Four levels of attainment criteria
Attainment Levels:
Level 4: Excellent
Level 3: Very Good
Level 2: Good
Level 1: Satisfactory
Program Specific Outcome (PSO)
- Combination of direct and indirect assessment methods
- 80% weightage to PO and 20% to student feedback survey
- Exit survey conducted at the end of the program
PSO Calculation:
PSO = (0.8 * PO) + (0.2 * iPO)
Attainment Levels:
4: Excellent
3-4: Very Good
2-3: Good
1-2: Satisfactory
